This Week's Challenge

Hello crafty friends. I am writing this on Saturday night and scheduling it for Wednesday's post. We all hope that everyone is safe and that this Hurricane comes and goes without leaving too much damage.  I decided on Saturday night that we would cancel our challenge this week. I live on the East Coast in Upstate NY and the Hurricane is headed right in our direction. I am certain that our power is going to go out, and who knows when it will be restored. I did not want anyone on our team to have to worry about getting projects and post ready.

In the meantime the "Inspiring Words" challenge is still opened. If you have not already checked it out the ladies project's are amazing, and I am sure you will gets lots of great ideas. Just scroll down for the details.

I also forgot to mention, in last weeks post, that on October 7 at 7pm EST we are having our Whimsical Halloween Blog Hop. We are all so excited about the hop. There will be a variety of projects and lots of blog candy so be sure to mark your calendars. Please feel free to pick up this ADORABLE badge that our own Whimsical Designer Cindy created herself. I just love all her drawings. Our other talented Whimsical Designer Chloe finished it off by adding the date, and time. Thank you girls again for creating the badge. Go ahead and pick up this cutie badge, just save the badge and add it to your side bar with a link back here. Thank you:)
We will see you all back here next week with a brand new challenge. Stay safe!

"Inspiring Words"

Hello Whimsical Friends. I hope everyone is having a great week! I was at the mall the other day, and could not believe how crowded it was. Everyone is doing the back to school shopping. People were practically knocking each other over, you would have thunk they were giving away free cricuts, lol:) It is time for another challenge. We all get inspiration for different places, this week we are challenging ourselves and you all to be inspired by words. Take a look at the photo. What word pops out to you first and what is the first thing you think of when you see that word?
So for the challenge this week create a card/project inspired by one of the words in the picture. Incorporate that word onto your card of project. Here are the sneaks from our Whimsical design team:
Fabulous sneak peeks. I can't wait to see what wonderful projects the team has come up with this week. Please make sure you hop on over to the designers blogs to see their completed projects and to get all the details. Be sure to leave them some love too:)
The random winner of the "Back To School Challenge" is #30 Indy. Please e-mail (found on the sidebar) so that I can get your  items out to you.
This week I am excited to have Barb from Bug Bites sponsoring our challenge with her fun stamp set "All Year Round"
This is such a fun set with so many sentiments for lots of occasions. Thank you Barb for sponsoring us this week.

After four challenges all the names will be combined and you will have the chance to win a pack of 8 1/2X11 Stampin' Up cardstock.
You will always get to chose the colors so head on over to my SU store to see what colors you would chose.

Here are the guidelines for the challenge:
1. Create a card or project inspired by one of the words in the above picture. Incorporate that word onto you card/project.
2. Please put in your post that you entered your project into this challenge with a link to this blog. I do not ask that you make a project just for my challenge. I know that there are lots of fun challenge blogs out there and I encourage you to play along in as many as you want:) So go ahead and enter your project where ever you like.
3. In order to become eligible for the prizes you must enter the challenge, become a follower of this blog, and leave a comment under our post's
4. Link your project to InLinkz by September 7 at midnight.
We have a brand new challenge every week, but each challenge stays opened for two week. Our "Three Times A Charm" challenge will remain open for one more week, so you still have time to play along. We can't wait to see what kind of "Inspiring Words" project you will come up with. Enjoy your week, and have fun.

"Three Times A Charm"

Hello Whimsical friends. These weeks are just flying right by. I really can not believe how quickly this challenge blog has grown, and the amount of entries we have gotten. I not only speak for myself, but for the team, when I say it has been so much fun stopping by all your blogs, reading your posts, and seeing all of your wonderful creations. We have even made some friends along the way.

Before we get to this weeks challenge, I wanted to mention a few things. Lately I have seen an increase in entries that do not meet the requirements for a specific challenge. For example the first Wednesday of the month is scrapbook pages ONLY.  If you are entering projects that have nothing to do with the challenge that week, it leads me to believe that those people just stopped in and entered a project, without even reading the post or looking at the Design Team's work. Please be sure to read what the challenge is for that week before entering your project. I am also asking that when you link your project, that it is a direct link to your post, and not your blog. If you just link your blog, it becomes difficult to find your actual entry. The ladies on this design team take tremendous pride in bringing you their best work each week. They also make it a priority to leave a comment on each and every entry that is submitted here. I am asking that you all respect them and their work. It is very important to me that Whimsical Wednesdays continues to be a blog that people can come to for inspiration, ideas, encouragement and support. Thanks to all of you for your understanding. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please e-mail me.

As you all probably know, in addition to running this blog, I have my own personal blog too. The past few months have been very hectic, and my personal blog has gotten less and less attention. It is a ton of work, and time consuming running a challenge blog. I am thrilled to announce that Jessica from Chick-n-Scrap has taken on the role of sponsor/blog coordinator. Jessica has been functioning in this role for the past month or so, and is doing a fabulous job. I kept meaning to make that announcement, but my brain is so cluttered these days that I kept forgetting. If Jessica had not stepped into this role, I am not sure how much longer I could have kept both blogs opened.

Okay, lets get onto this weeks challenge. This week Amber is challenging us all with her "Three Times A Charm" challenge. We had to create a card or project with three cuts, three colors, and three of the same embellishments. Here is our talented Design Team's sneak peeks:

There are the fabulous sneak peeks. Be sure to head on over to the designer's blogs to see their completed "Three Times a Charm" project. Thank you Amber for the fun challenge idea this week.

The random winner of the "Sense Of Humor" LO is #14 Heather. The random winner of all the combined names for the four challenge series is Donna from Donna's Dreamworks. Please e-mail me so I can get your prizes out to you. My e-mail is on the right side bar. I don't like to type it in the post because it seems to attract spam??.

This week our designer and blog coordinator, Jessica, has donated Nursery Rhymes for the challenge give away. Thank you Jessica!
After four challenges all the names will be combined and you will have the chance to win a pack of 8 1/2X11 Stampin' Up cardstock.
You will always get to chose the colors so head on over to my SU store to see what colors you would chose.
